Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities and seniors in a long-term care setting. This position requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional service, upholding resident rights, and promoting a positive and supportive living environment. Duties
  • Provide daily living assistance to residents, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Assist residents with daily activities, such as grooming, bathing, and dressing.
  • Support residents with their specific needs and goals, including those with developmental disabilities.
  • Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to management.
  • Maintain a safe and clean living environment, adhering to infection control protocols and performing heavy lifting tasks as needed.
  • Promote and respect resident rights, ensuring that their needs are met and their dignity is upheld.
  • Engage with residents in activities that promote socialization, recreational activities, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with other members of the care team to ensure that residents receive comprehensive care.
  • Provide support and education to residents and their families to help them navigate the care process. Skills
  • Patient monitoring and ability to recognize signs of distress or illness.
  • Experience working in senior care, long-term care, or assisted living settings.
  • Commitment to upholding resident rights and promoting a positive and supportive living environment.
  • Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with complex needs.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks and other physical demands of the job.
  • Excellent caregiving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with home community care and the ability to provide support in a variety of settings.
