Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the living environment Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, ensuring a safe and comforting atmosphere Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in accordance with privacy regulations Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and experience with hospice or dementia care are advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when required Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed Join us in making a positive impact by providing compassionate support that enhances the quality of life for those we serve.
