Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and well-being Monitor patients' vital signs, observe changes in health status, and document findings accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support residents with medication administration and adherence to care plans under supervision - if not Med pass certified we will help in obtaining certificate. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and heavy lifting when necessary -We will train Engage residents in social activities, community outings, and recreational programs to foster socialization and mental stimulation Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and personal spaces Observe patients closely for signs of distress or changes in condition, ensuring prompt response Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures to ensure immediate response during emergencies Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to develop and implement individualized care plans Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings helpful. Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training highly desirable - but we will train. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly. Strong observational skills for patient safety monitoring and reporting changes in condition. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia or Alzheimer's is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members Compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience to support individuals with diverse needs.
