Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with autism, dementia, and other developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence and dignity in their daily activities. This role requires a strong understanding of resident rights and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' social well-being. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. Monitor and document clients' health status, including vital signs and behavioral changes. Support clients in community integration activities, fostering independence in home and community settings. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while respecting resident rights. Participate in training sessions and team meetings to continuously improve care practices. Experience Prior experience in home community care or group home settings is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus. Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable. Familiarity with basic nursing skills, including taking vital signs, is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client support. Background in social work or related fields will be considered an asset.
