Job Description

At Golden Rule Industries (GRI), it is our mission to provide programs and vocational supports for adults with developmental and physical disabilities via training and employment opportunities that assist the individual in fulfilling their dreams and goals.
  • Responsible for providing support and guidance to Working Partners in Brenda Clark Training Center (BCTC) by coaching Working Partners as they interact with peers and complete daily tasks.
  • Provides direction, support and training to Working Partners through entire shift.
  • Responsible for Working Partner tasks only when Working Partners are not available.
  • This position works alongside the site supervisor and other job coaches. Initiative and independent performance is expected.
  • This position does not supervise any other position but oversees and coaches up to 5 Working Partners.

General Duties:
Instructs, coaches, monitors and redirects Working Partners in the performance of basic job duties, worksite behaviors and general life skills. Assists Working Partners with basic life functions such as eating, drinking, toileting, moving from one area to another, etc., as needed. Ensures completion of all Working Partner tasks according to safety, quality and performance standards. Assigns individual job tasks to Working Partners according to ability. Provides appropriate supervision to Working Partners according to needs laid out in their Individual Plans. Provides guidance to Working Partners during the donation process, including sorting and packing of merchandise. Responsible for quality control throughout the process of Working Partner tasks May be responsible for providing transportation for working partners as needed. Assists site supervisor with keeping accurate daily records for Working Partners, including attendance, data calendars and behavior logs. Sets up individual work stations prior to Working Partners' arrival so that work can begin promptly each day. Attends team meetings for Working Partners assigned to your area, as needed. Identifies potential problems and seeks to resolve prior to issues arising. Remains aware of emergency procedures and participates in emergency drills as requested. Ensures that each guest to BCTC receives excellent customer service Follows all safety precautions in the proper use, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies. Follows all general safety procedures and keeps the safety of Working Partners in mind at all times. Coordinates sales of cotton rags to customers. Adheres to all company policies and procedures. Responsible for regular, on-time attendance. Requests supplies needed for tasks in a timely manner. Remains active when Working Partners are present. Refrains from doing tasks Working Partners should be completing, when Working Partners are present.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma, or GED. Vocational training or job-related certifications are a plus.
  • Must complete required GRI training within the designated time frame; GRI provides all required training.
Additional Competencies, Skills and Qualificiations:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Physical Requirements:
  • This is an active position that requires movement and standing.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, squat, reach, grasp, as well as lift and carry up to 25 unassisted or 50 lbs. plus with assistance. Must be able to climb ladders/step stools. Visual acuity needed for preparing/reading price tags/merchandise/chemical labels, etc.
Work Environment:
Well-lit, climate-controlled work area with supervision of Working Partners as they complete outdoor tasks or tasks in the warehouse.
