Job Description

Direct Support Professional Lebanon, OR 97355 From $20 an hour - Full-time From $20 an hour - Full-time Overview DSA at Be There Home Care is all about creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where adults (18 and older) with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities can spend their day in meaningful and enjoyable ways. Day Support Activities are designed to help individuals build confidence, develop everyday life and social skills, and stay connected to their communities. Whether it's learning something new, spending time with others, or participating in community outings, Our DSA program focuses on helping each person grow, feel included, and live a more independent and fulfilling life. Our Day Support Activities (DSA) program offers fun and adventurous experiences while always prioritizing safety and support. From zoo trips and swimming to arts and crafts and beyond, there's always something exciting to enjoy! Duties Support residents during social activities, outings, and community engagement to foster socialization and quality of life Monitor residents' health by observing patient behavior, and reporting changes in condition to providers Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA confidentiality standards to ensure safe and compliant patient care. Follow detailed care plans for individuals with , autism or other disabilities, ensuring personalized support tailored to each resident's needs Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, DSA. assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as OIS training are a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs as needed Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams Compassionate attitude with patience for working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
