Job Description

Job Overview As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This position requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to providing exceptional care. You will assist clients in their daily activities, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence and dignity. Responsibilities Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities in accordance with their care plans. Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document client progress and changes in behavior or health status. Implement memory care strategies for clients experiencing cognitive challenges. Advocate for resident rights and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans as needed. Support clients in community integration activities, encouraging social interaction and engagement. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients by adhering to safety protocols and procedures. Skills Proficient in First Aid and CPR techniques. Experience in home health care or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and the ability to recognize changes in client conditions. Familiarity with resident rights and ethical considerations in direct support roles. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is maintained. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to develop and follow individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
