In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, empowering them to live fulfilling lives within their homes and communities. Your energetic and positive approach will foster independence, safety, and well-being for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing your skills in behavioral health, care management, and community engagement. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence and comfort. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring a supportive and positive environment. Support communication efforts using various tools including American Sign Language (ASL) when applicable, to facilitate effective interactions. Drive clients safely to appointments, community activities, or outings as needed, maintaining compliance with all driving safety standards. Collect and document data related to client progress, behaviors, medication administration, and service delivery to ensure accurate records for ongoing care planning. Provide caregiving support with patience and enthusiasm while fostering social skills through engaging activities like childcare or recreational outings. Collaborate closely with families, behavioral health professionals, and social workers to develop personalized care plans that meet each individual's unique needs. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health challenges is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is a strong asset. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate caregiving in a home setting. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, and team members. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record to support transportation responsibilities. Experience in home & community care environments or similar roles is desirable. Familiarity with data collection methods related to client progress and medication administration is beneficial.
