The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including home health, assisted living, and group homes. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work closely with individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Provide personal care services while ensuring the dignity and respect of each individual. Tube feeds Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patients' conditions. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans under the supervision of healthcare professionals. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely when assisting clients with mobility challenges. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving or personal care roles is preferred; experience in nursing homes or hospice care is a plus. Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and patient monitoring techniques is essential. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient assistance. A compassionate approach to caregiving that prioritizes the well-being of clients. Certification in direct support or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
