Direct Support Professional Fluent in (ASL)

Harrell Assisted Living Homes is seeking a compassionate, patient, and skilled Direct Support Professional (DSP) who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to support an adult male with intellectual disabilities who is both visually and hearing impaired. This is a high-impact, relationship-based role where you will play a key part in promoting independence, dignity, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide In-Home and Community Support (IHCS) and Community Participation Support (CPS) Communicate effectively using American Sign Language (ASL) Assist with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, organization) Support community integration (events, social groups, activities) Encourage independence and confidence-building Follow the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and document services accurately Ensure health, safety, and overall well-being at all times

Required Qualifications:

Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) (REQUIRED) Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or sensory impairments preferred Valid driver's license & reliable transportation Ability to pass background checks (per ODP requirements) Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills

Part-time Pay:

$13.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
