Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, and health conditions. In this vital role, you will empower individuals to live as independently as possible by supporting their daily activities, ensuring safety, and fostering a positive environment. Your energetic approach will help create a nurturing atmosphere where clients feel valued, respected, and motivated to achieve their personal goals. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor patients' vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure health stability Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain safety and compliance Support clients during meal preparation, cooking nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, and assist with feeding when required Observe patients closely for changes in behavior or health status; document observations accurately for ongoing care plans Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards Provide companionship and emotional support while encouraging social interaction within group home or community settings Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease in settings such as group homes or assisted living facilities Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care are advantageous Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involving mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident transfers Strong observational skills for patient safety and behavioral cues; excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and families Familiarity with care plans development and adherence; experience in long-term care or home health environments is preferred Compassionate attitude combined with energetic engagement to motivate clients toward independence and well-being Join our team to be part of a dynamic environment where your dedication directly impacts lives.
