The home health aide (HHA) is a non-professional employee trained to provide personal care and related homemaking services to enable the client to achieve and/or maintain optimal independence with ADL (activities of daily living). Duties and Responsibilities Provides personal care, including oral hygiene, skin, hair, and nail care, and shaving male clients. Assists with positioning clients to maintain proper body alignment and skin integrity. Assists with simple exercise programs, transfers, ambulation, and activity as directed by the Supervising Nurse. Assists client with medications that are ordinarily self-administered. Assists clients with the use of toilet facilities and durable equipment, bedpan, and commode. Takes and records blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration. Assists clients to achieve maximum self-reliance through relearning and modifying activities of daily living. Plans shops for, and prepares nutritious meals, including special diets when required. Performs household tasks essential to maintain the client in a clean safe environment (changing bed linens, dusting client's room, client's laundry, etc). Promotes mental alertness of the client through conversation and purposeful activity. Measures and records fluid intake and output. Promptly reports changes in the client's condition, behavior, or appearance to the Supervising Nurse. Completes appropriate records on a daily basis in accordance with Agency policy and procedure Attends staff meetings and in-service programs as scheduled. Qualifications Completion of 2-Step PPD, QuantiFERON Gold Test, or Chest X-ray Criminal background check free of prohibitive offenses (conducted in-house) Must be legally authorized to work in the United States High school diploma or GED preferred Minimum of one (1) year experience as a caregiver preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Benefits Full-time and Part-time Opportunities Competitive Pay & Bonuses Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance 401k Employer match
