Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your compassionate nature and proactive approach will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive, respectful, and personalized assistance to promote independence, safety, and well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Support medication administration according to care plans and document all care activities meticulously. Engage in patient observation to identify any signs of distress or deterioration, especially in clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and ensuring infection control protocols are followed diligently. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans and participate in ongoing training such as CPR and first aid certification. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living, home health care, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement. Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice support, or memory care is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs as needed. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Valid certifications in CPR and first aid; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or social work experience are advantageous.
