Job Description
Job Overview As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and within the community. You will assist clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Implement care calendars tailored to each individual's needs and preferences. Support clients in engaging with their community through social activities and outings. Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality. Skills First aid and CPR certification are preferred for emergency situations. Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in behavior or health status. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility challenges. Knowledge of caregiving practices for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism is beneficial. Experience in implementing care plans tailored to individual needs. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
