Direct Support Professional Tymeless Healing LLC Philadelphia, PA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18 - $20 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Certified Home Health Aide High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Direct support CNA Full Job Description Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Home and Community-Based Care Position Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides compassionate, person-centered care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia, and other cognitive or physical challenges. DSPs assist clients in maintaining their independence, improving their quality of life, and achieving personal goals while living safely in their homes and participating in community activities. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and dementia. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation. Support clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed care plans. Encourage and assist individuals in developing life skills, social skills, and independent living abilities. Accompany clients to medical appointments, recreational activities, community events, and other outings as needed. Monitor and document client behaviors, progress, health concerns, and significant changes in condition. Implement individualized support plans and maintain accurate records in accordance with agency policies and state regulations. Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment while preserving client dignity and confidentiality. Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, supervisors, and other members of the care team. Respond appropriately to emergencies and behavioral situations following established protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, dementia, or related populations preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. CPR, First Aid, and other required certifications preferred or willingness to obtain. Physical Requirements Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and physical support as needed. Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
