Direct Support Professionals (DSP) caring for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Lilly Of The Valley - 5.0 Philadelphia, PA Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Driving Meal preparation First aid and CPR Full Job Description Job Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides supervision, care, and daily support to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. The DSP implements individualized support plans, assists with daily living activities, coordinates healthcare needs, and maintains a safe and structured home environment all while upholding our organization's values in every interaction. Essential Duties & Function Supervise clients according to their individualized supervision levels Implement goal plans from the Individualized Support Plan (ISP) Assist with daily living skills: meal prep, cleaning, shopping, transportation, and community activities Complete all required documentation (progress notes, medication logs, incident reports, etc.) Administer medications as prescribed (upon completion of Medication Administration Training) Provide emergency medical procedures as needed, including Basic First Aid and CPR upon completion of CPR Training Report suspected abuse or neglect immediately to the Site Supervisor Attend all mandatory staff trainings Inform the Site Supervisor of any needs related to the home, vehicle, and LOTV property in a timely manner Identify, write up, and notify the designated point person for all unusual incidents within the mandated timelines (Serious Concerns and Incident Reports) Communicate shift updates to incoming staff Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record State police clearance and FBI clearance (required for non-Pennsylvania residents for 2+ consecutive years) CPR and First Aid Certification Medication Administration Certification Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training Training hours as required by the organization, licensing, and regulatory standards Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of the characteristics of sexual offending and compliance with PA 6100 Regulations and IDS Guidelines Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures Open and direct communication and disclosure skills Ability to speak frankly, honestly, and appropriately about sex and sexual matters in a therapeutic context Ability to engage clients in effective, therapeutic, and healthy interactions Knowledge of the impact of trauma on the well-being of individuals receiving services Ability to maintain professional and therapeutic boundaries at all times Ability to respect clients' culture and identity and assist them in participating in their culture Ability to maintain all required supervision levels with clients Capacity to maintain high levels of vigilance for extended time periods Capacity to lift individuals for the purpose of transfers Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 - 100 lbs frequently), and assist individuals with mobility needs for extended periods.
