Job Description

Overview As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. Your compassionate nature and dedication will help clients maintain their independence while receiving the care they deserve. You'll work closely with home care clients providing essential assistance with daily activities and personal care.

  • What you'll do Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote their dignity and comfort.
Monitor and document patients' vital signs and overall health status to ensure their well-being. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences while promoting healthy eating habits. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment that encourages social interaction. Maintain cleanliness in living spaces by performing light housekeeping tasks, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans to meet each client's specific needs. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary, ensuring safety for both clients and caregivers. Engage in patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or health that may require attention from medical professionals. Skills Experience in home health or caregiving roles, particularly with seniors or individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques to respond effectively in emergencies. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility challenges. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality at all times. Proficiency in patient monitoring techniques to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
