Job Description

Schedule is flexible $22.50 a hour, bi weekly pay, $200 bonus paid in first check for completing training Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Pottstown, PA. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism and other disabilities. Your positive energy and proactive approach will empower individuals to achieve greater independence, enhance their quality of life, and foster a safe, nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and social skills development Support communication efforts using various methods such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication tools Collect and document data related to progress, behaviors, medication administration, and care plans accurately and consistently Drive clients to appointments, community outings, or recreational activities while ensuring safety and adherence to transportation policies Help with household tasks and home care routines to maintain a clean, safe living environment Collaborate with team members, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs preferred Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate caregiving in home or community settings Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members effectively Valid driver's license, vehicle with valid insurance and inspection Familiarity with medication administration procedures and data collection methods Experience in social work or home & community care is advantageous Ability to handle challenging behaviors professionally while maintaining a positive attitude Join us in creating a supportive environment where individuals thrive!
