Overnight Job Summary:
ATC Healthcare is seeking compassionate, attentive, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct care and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The ideal candidate will be experienced in supporting individuals with varying behavioral and personal care needs while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and community inclusion. Successful candidates will possess strong observational skills, be proactive in recognizing behavioral precursors and cues, and demonstrate the ability to effectively implement de-escalation strategies and person-centered support techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene. Support individuals in achieving personal goals, increasing independence, and enhancing quality of life. Monitor behaviors, identify triggers, precursors, and warning signs, and respond appropriately using approved behavioral intervention techniques. Implement individualized service plans, behavior support plans, and person-centered care strategies. Utilize de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and supportive environment. Assist with community integration, recreational activities, appointments, and social engagement. Accurately document daily activities, behavioral observations, incidents, and progress notes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, supervisors, healthcare professionals, and family members. Maintain compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and client confidentiality requirements. Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive to the assigned facility.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Experience providing personal care assistance and support. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR Certification required. High School Diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass all required background checks, clearances, and screenings. Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Experience implementing behavioral interventions and behavior support plans. Knowledge of person-centered care practices. Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills. Experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques or principles. Detail-oriented with the ability to recognize behavioral patterns, anticipate precursors, and proactively support individuals. Experience working within data-driven programs and accurately documenting behavioral and service outcomes.
