Direct Support Professional (caregiver)

$30/hr (W-2) Overview We're hiring a dependable, kind, and patient companion/DSP to support an adult with an intellectual/developmental disability and significant behavioral needs in the Philadelphia area. This role focuses on companionship, community outings, and building independence through consistent routines, skill building, and positive support. Schedule Flexible hours, flexible shifts. Work closely with family to determine. What you'll do Provide companionship and social interaction (conversation, games, walks, activities) Support community activities and appointments (you will provide transportation) Assist with daily living skills (simple meal prep, basic household tasks, planning ahead/budgeting practice) Provide medication assistance per training and care plan requirements Maintain close safety supervision in the community (individual cannot be out independently) Use a supportive approach: give extra processing time, break tasks into small steps, and use positive reinforcement Drive client into the community for appointments/activities. Important notes / environment Home includes pets This role requires someone who can provide steady structure and routine. What we're looking for Valid driver's license, reliable insured vehicle , clean driving record. May drive client up to 30 miles per day (maximum) Patient, calm, consistent, and able to follow a support plan Ability to pass required PA clearances/background checks (agency will guide you) Experience in caregiving, DSP work, or behavioral health is a plus (not required) How to apply Reply with your general availability, your experience, and when you can begin
