Job Description

Able-Services, the adult services affiliate of Leg Up Farm, is currently looking to hire Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for their adult day program and transportation services. In the role of a Direct Support Professional you will provide engaging activities and community outings to assist individuals to learn skills for independence and have a fulfilling day. A typical day begins between 6 AM and 8:30 AM and ends between 4 PM and 6:30 PM. Over 3 weeks of paid training and job shadowing are provided by the agency. Staff members ensure participants are provided with support and personal care and are kept safe at all times. They are able to travel through the county on outings and have fun with individuals, while teaching them new skills. They must maintain strict confidentiality and be able work independently, be flexible, problem solve, and be creative in the implementation of new and engaging activities. The ability to be patient and responsive to participant's needs, use Positive Approaches, Person Centered Planning, and follow the Everyday Lives philosophy is necessary.
