Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve greater independence, community integration, and an improved quality of life through person-centered support. We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in their homes and communities. This is not a desk job. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others build confidence, independence, and meaningful community connections. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides skill-building and community-based support services to individuals receiving Community Living & Supports and Individual Supports services. The DSP will assist individuals in developing independent living skills, participating in community activities, achieving personal goals, and increasing self-sufficiency. DSPs are coaches, mentors, and advocates who help individuals learn to do tasks independently rather than doing tasks for them.
Essential Responsibilities:
Independent Living Skills Teach budgeting and money management Support meal planning and preparation Assist with grocery shopping Teach household organization skills Support appointment scheduling Promote healthy habits and routines Community Integration Support participation in recreational activities Assist with transportation training Support social skill development Encourage participation in community events Promote relationship-building opportunities Goal Achievement Assist individuals in achieving person-centered goals Provide skill-building support Encourage self-advocacy and decision-making Document progress toward goals Documentation Complete service notes accurately and timely Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Communicate concerns to supervisors Report incidents immediately according to agency policy
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED Minimum age of 21 years old Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Automobile insurance Ability to pass background screenings Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for documentation Strong communication skills
CPR and First Aid Certification Preferred:
Experience working with I/DD populations Behavioral health experience Human services experience Community-based support experience
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
