This energetic and compassionate position involves providing personalized care, promoting community engagement, and ensuring safety and well-being through attentive support and assistance. As a DSP, you will be the cornerstone of positive change, fostering a nurturing environment that encourages growth, dignity, and respect for each individual. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using assisted medical equipment when necessary. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with cooking and meal planning to promote healthy living. Support residents in participating in community activities and social outings to foster independence and social engagement. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning common areas, personal spaces, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Document care activities meticulously in compliance with state and federal regulations, including detailed notes on patient observations, progress, and any incidents. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dementia or Alzheimer's disease is desirable. Familiarity with care plans development and implementation to meet individual needs effectively. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are strongly recommended. Previous exposure to home health or hospice care environments will be considered an asset. Ability to perform some lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance.
