Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care, medical documentation, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities. This is a full time (8:30 am - 4:30 pm) M-F in the field, covering Tompkins & Cortland Counties. •Must have a current NYS Home Health Aide Certificate. OR if you have a current CNA, we can provide an upgrade through Classen upon hire.•Duties Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare professionals. Ensure the home environment is safe and clean, reporting any hazards or concerns promptly. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare providers regarding care plans and progress. Qualifications Previous experience in home health care or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to maintain medical records accurately. Familiarity with CPR techniques and emergency response procedures. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with individuals with disabilities. Ability to cook nutritious meals tailored to individual client needs. Understanding of home community care practices and patient care standards. Must possess a valid certification or training in Home Health Aide services (if applicable).
