Job Description
The Mobile Health Unit Assistant (MHUA) reports to and assists the departmental Manager to ensure smooth operations and extended availability of the DOHC Mobile Health Unit. Professional Duties Assist in completion of the processes related to maintenance of the Mobile Health Unit vehicle and equipment contained in the vehicle. Support cleaning schedule for the Mobile Health Unit to ensure the vehicle is maintained in an organized and sanitized fashion at all times. Assist to ensure that policies, procedures and processes that will be utilized by the Mobile Health Unit staff. Provide back-up support to the departmental manager to ensure continuous availability of the Mobile Health Unit schedule of activities and ensure the vehicle is present where it needs to be at all times. Participate in the Mobile Health Unit Task Force Assist with the facilitation of care to DOHC members by way of the Mobile Health Unit. In the absence of the departmental manager, this includes connecting members to care with providers (virtually or in person) Provide patient registration support for Mobile Health Unit events. Required to safely drive and maneuver the MHC Unit upon completion of operational training. Required to provide support for marketing efforts, health screening events, and registration processes, as necessary. Demonstrate flexibility with schedules to support events and program needs Perform other duties as assigned. Speak positively about your work, co-workers and Desert Oasis Healthcare and Family Hospice Care See the positive in situations and in others Avoid gossip and negativity Offer to answer any additional questions that the person, patient or customer may have Anticipate needs that will arise before your next meeting Inform patients and co-workers of how and when to contact you under normal circumstances (phone number, email, a help line, Immediate Care, etc.) or when unforeseen issues arise Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Certification in a healthcare field such as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification, preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of work experience in healthcare, and experience in supporting clinical project management, ability to drive mobile unit to events, preferred. Experience documenting in electronic health record. Bilingual preferred, fluent in Spanish and English. BLS required within 60 days of hire. Interpersonal and group process skills necessary to work with variety of individuals within the organization. Valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance required. At the discretion of
