Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Personal Care Assistant to provide vital support and assistance to individuals in need of daily living care. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor patient health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly Support residents with medication administration following prescribed care plans and HIPAA privacy standards Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Observe and document changes in residents' physical or mental condition, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers and mobility assistance Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident areas and laundry Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through memory care techniques and engagement activities Collaborate with nursing staff and social workers to develop and implement personalized care plans Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including CPR and first aid procedures, to safeguard residents' well-being Engage in ongoing training related to hospice care, autism support, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities Requirements Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is highly preferred Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with seniors or individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes accurately Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility; ability to use equipment like Hoyer lifts safely Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members Knowledge of medication administration procedures following prescribed instructions Experience working within care plans tailored for dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory care populations is advantageous Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join us in making a positive impact by providing dedicated personal care that empowers individuals to live comfortably and confidently.
