Direct Support Professional

Direct Support Professional Generations Adult Day Health Center Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing care and support to adults with developmental disabilities in a day care setting. Generations is rapidly growing and the need for additional staff is necessary. We are looking for a Direct Support Professional who is experienced working with adults with disabilities. The perfect person for this job should possess talent(s) such as classroom art, group dance, and adult crafting and other fun activities that are appropriate for adults with disabilities. The right person for this position will work in our recreational room overseeing the smooth operation of a variety of day activities that are happening simultaneously including, but not limited to, special occasion parties, bingo, card games, board games, pool table activities, skee ball, basketball and other classroom activities and duties as well as assistance with personal care as is needed. Direct Support staff also participate in community trips with our participants. Persons with a variety of crafting abilities and knowledge is a plus! This is a busy job and requires an upbeat person with a happy disposition who can multi-task and manage a variety of things at one time. Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Experience:

Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia is highly preferred Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when necessary Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare teams, participants , family members, and case managers. Previous caregiving or long-term care experience that highlights patience, compassion, and adaptability. Join us in making a positive impact every day!
