Personal Care Assistant Sympathy Home Care - 5.0 Columbia, SC Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Qualifications Patient monitoring Patient assessment Maintaining patient confidentiality Caregiving HIPAA Assisting with ADLs Cleaning Patient interaction Home health Bathing assistance Patient observation Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, particularly in settings such as group homes, assisted living facilities, or home health care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs). Duties Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing Support clients in meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals Help with mobility and transferring clients using equipment such as Hoyer lifts Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client conditions Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities Assist with medication administration as per care plans Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or emotional well-being Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or autism Requirements Previous experience in home health care, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility needs Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and assessment Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and their families Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life Experience working directly with individuals who have disabilities or special needs is a plus If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and possess the necessary skills to provide exceptional care, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Personal Care Assistant.
