Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, particularly in environments such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, and geriatrics. The Personal Care Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients across different age groups and medical needs. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Provide support in mobility and transportation within the facility. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene protocols. Help with basic medical tasks under the supervision of healthcare professionals. Engage with patients through conversation and companionship to enhance their emotional well-being. Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with facility policies. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as inpatient units, emergency medicine departments, PICUs, and clinics. Qualifications Previous experience in a caregiving role or similar position is preferred. Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and protocols is advantageous. Knowledge of geriatrics or pediatric care is a plus. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or trauma centers. Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care. Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
