Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional/Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will supervise DSP's who will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. Your responsibilities will also include assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive environment for the people served by Ability Building Services Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide care and support in a group home or assisted living setting. Help develop and implement service plans tailored to each individual's needs and goals Assist with medication administration . Engage people in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal growth. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment, including cooking and cleaning tasks. Support people with mobility needs, including the use of assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients. Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in related fields such as home health, hospice care, or long-term care is preferred. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus. Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients as needed. A genuine passion for caregiving and a commitment to improving the lives of others. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and experience in nursing or social work is beneficial.
