Job Description

Job Title:
Personal Care Assistant -
Home Care Setting Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide in-home support for a paralyzed veteran with a spinal cord injury. This role involves both personal care and active lifestyle assistance in a positive, family-oriented household.
Responsibilities:
Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and assistance with activities of daily living. Administer prescribed medications. Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, etc.). Provide transportation in an accessible van to church, community activities, and other events. Support household needs, including pet care and light outdoor tasks such as tending flowers. Collaborate with other caregivers to ensure consistent coverage and backup when needed.
Schedule:
Friday--Tuesday ~6 hours per shift (flexible with planned activities). With return night turn after 5pm 1 hour. Weekend shifts (Every other Saturday 6 hours, every Sunday is a bit different but necessary so the individual can attend church with family.. Every other Saturday off. One other employee works Wednesday and thursday and every other Saturday both of you will insure that someone is here each day as you work together. There will be on the Job training. Returning to Turn each evening and evening care. It doesn't take long 3ach day but necessary for skin care.
Requirements:
Prior experience in caregiving or healthcare preferred, but a positive, adaptable attitude is most important. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently. Active lifestyle; must enjoy engaging in activities beyond "sitting." Pet-friendly and comfortable in a busy household environment. Reliable transportation to and from the job.
Additional Information:
Pay is based on a VA program and may vary depending on qualifications. This is an upbeat, positive household, and timeliness is essential as the spouse works full-time. Applicant will be contacted for a pre-screening interview. About the
