Direct Support Professional (DSP)
  • PA (Personal Assistant)
Part-Time Starting Pay:
$16.00 per hour Non-Exempt | Hourly Part-Time (16-30 hours) Opportunities Available We are seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered support to individuals served by our agency. This role promotes independence, dignity, and community inclusion while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of each individual supported. We are hiring for two specific DSP Personal Assitant roles. Personal Assistant (PA) will work with one individual on shift. First PA will require an overnight
  • 9pm•9am Second PA is flexible hours through M-F•up to 20 hours Overnight staff must remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the shift to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals supported.
Position Summary The Direct Support Professional PA (DSPPA) provides direct care and support services in the home and community. DSPs assist individuals in developing independence, daily living skills, and meaningful community involvement while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Essential Responsibilities (Responsibilities may vary based on assignment) Provide supervision and direct support to individuals served Assist with and teach Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Implement Individual Support Plan (ISP) action steps and specialized care plans as written Complete accurate and timely documentation prior to leaving each shift Provide transportation as needed Support community engagement and relationship building Provide crisis intervention when necessary Oversee health and welfare of individuals supported Attend medical appointments as needed Administer medications (or support self-administration) upon successful completion of state-approved medication administration training and in accordance with agency policy Prepare balanced meals according to individual needs and medical guidance Maintain the home and grounds according to agency standards Assist with shopping and household responsibilities while promoting independence Participate in staff meetings and required training Maintain required certifications (CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, PCM, etc.) Follow all agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required (college preferred) Experience working with adults or children in a supportive environment preferred Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an insurable driving record in accordance with agency standards Ability to meet all licensing, regulatory, and credentialing requirements Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Dependable, professional, and team-oriented Physical Requirements Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed Ability to stand, walk, bend, and provide active support throughout the shift Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Additional Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background screening and drug screening in accordance with state and regulatory requirements.
