Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional, where your compassion and commitment will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, support independence, and foster a safe, nurturing environment. Whether working in residential settings or community-based programs, your efforts will empower individuals to achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life. Responsibilities Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient observation and monitor health status, vital signs, and overall well-being Support medication administration and help maintain accurate care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations Prepare nutritious meals, assist with cooking, and ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness in living spaces Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely when necessary Engage individuals in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence Document care activities thoroughly, including patient monitoring, behavioral observations, and incident reports Skills Proven experience in group home settings or assisted living environments is highly desirable Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care best practices Certifications in CPR and First Aid to ensure safety during emergencies Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining patience and compassion Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals Physical stamina for activities such as heavy lifting, patient transfers using Hoyer lifts, and long shifts on your feet Join us in providing compassionate care that transforms lives!
