Full Time Employee - 40 hours (Non-Exempt)QUALIFICATIONS
Will possess a High School diploma or GED with two (2) years' experience working with troubled youth as a para-professional, volunteer or intern in a social service, residential, educational or institutional setting or (2) years college credit (30 credits) and (1) year experience with troubled youth Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required Must be 21 years of age Must be able to read, write, and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel, and other person's necessary to care for the child's needs Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks Must demonstrate competency, prudent judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities Must possess excellent organizational, writing, analytical, and processing skills Should be able to perform conflict resolution or crisis intervention and have excellent communication skills Must be able to embrace cultural diversity awareness Must have the ability to work as a direct care staff with a diverse population Must have a valid state driver's licenseRESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a positive adult mentor for all youth by respecting their boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality Responsible for supervising, transporting, supporting, and encouraging assigned youth Responsible for daily documentation, incident reports as necessary, and the distribution of medication for assigned youth Assist youth with all daily living activities, homework, etc. Knowing which children they are responsible for Provide Childcare services for each assigned child Being aware of and accountable for each child's on-going activity Providing the level of supervision necessary to ensure each child's safety and well-being, including auditory and/or visual awareness of each child's ongoing activity as appropriate; and being able to intervene when necessary to ensure each child's safety Be aware of the children's habits, interests, and any special needs Provide a safe environment Cultivate developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned but flexible program activities Positively reinforce children's efforts and accomplishments Ensure continuity of care for children by sharing with incoming staff information about each child's activities during the previous shift and any verbal or written information or instructions given by other professionals Serve as a positive role model Participate in client intake and assessment interviews Maintain client progress notes and assist in developing goal-oriented service plans Assist team leader in preparation and documentation of reports Provide client supervision and maintain appropriate documentation Establish helping relationships with client by demonstrating the ability to apply clinically directed concepts and interventions; Report all inadequacies in provision of service to clients as specified byASPIRE 2
Dream and contract guidelines Prepare and submit well-organized documentation and reports within required timelines, demonstrating ability to report facts and apply policies and procedures Keep LCCA and Team leader informed of all observations made Provide crisis intervention for clients consistent with Aspire 2 Dream policies and procedures Attend and participate in training, workshops and in-services provided by Aspire 2 Dream Maintain confidentiality in all areas of client and program operations Maintain professional and ethical standards and professional demeanor at all times; Comply with the agency and program and policy procedure manual; and Comply with all Licensing Standards Other duties as assigned by Team Leader that do not interfere with direct childcare responsibilities.
