Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role involves working closely with individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living, and group homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients. Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in health status. Prepare meals according to specific dietary needs and preferences. Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment. Assist with medication administration as per care plans. Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively. Qualifications Previous experience in personal care, home health, or long-term care settings preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR; certification is a plus. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer's care is highly desirable. Strong patient observation skills and the ability to monitor changes in client conditions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance. Familiarity with patient care protocols, including vital signs monitoring and medication administration.
