Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and become a vital part of empowering individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care and support to residents in various settings, assisted living facilities, and community-based programs. Your energy and commitment will help foster a safe, respectful environment where each individual can thrive. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing valuable skills in patient care, caregiving, and community support. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings in accordance with HIPAA regulations Support medication administration and ensure care plans are followed accurately and safely Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service in compliance with health standards Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Document care activities thoroughly, including patient observations, incident reports, and updates to care plans Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia (including Alzheimer's and memory care), or in senior or hospice care is highly preferred Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or HIPAA training are a plus Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed for resident support Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions closely and respond promptly to changing needs Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home & community care environments is advantageous Knowledge of infection control practices and maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA standards Join us in making a positive impact on lives every day! Must be able bodied and can de-escalte situations at a high level. Second client is very easy going and is typically in his home and going out in the community.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
