Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Providing care/support associated with all aspects of care, including: feeding, hygiene, medication, ambulation, range of motion, communication and community activities.
  • Promoting individual's rights, dignity freedom of choice, and their individuality according to person centered thinking.
  • Assisting/training individuals as outlined in individual service plans.
  • Assisting and escorting service recipients to appointments such as physician, activities, shopping and others.
  • Providing domestic duties including house cleaning, bathrooms and meal preparation.
  • Responsible for promptly reporting incidents, or evidence of abuse or violation of individual's rights.
  • Maintaining skills necessary to safely operate equipment and machines used in the performance of the job, including: Mechanical Lifts, adjustable chairs/beds, scales and vehicles.
  • Modeling desirable behaviors for service recipients and coworkers.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • Minimum of 6 months in health related field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of human behavior and intellectual disabilities.
  • Valid drivers license in VA, DC or MD and safe driving record.
  • First Aid, and CPR.
  • Will provide this training if necessary.
