Alexandria, VA Job Details Part-time | Full-time From $17 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Behavior management First aid Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License Direct support Full Job Description As a Direct Support Professional for Fassity Home Care, you will assist in the development of the program; implementation of individual program goals, plan and implement community and home-based activities focusing on participant's choices; assist with personal care as needed and assigned; assist and/or substitute for fellow DSP as needed. The Direct Support Professional will report to the Field Supervisor of Fassity Home Care.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Reliable transportation At least 20 years old
Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the characteristics and concepts of developmental disabilities and related conditions Ability to implement and follow the policies and procedures of the position. Ability to engage in the care and assist others. Ability to provide basic nursing care, personal care, and hygiene. Ability to participate with professional staff in the design and implementation of training and programmatic activities. Ability to observe the rights and personal dignity of others. Ability to observe, record and report individuals' behavior, attitude, and physical condition. Ability to perform simple math and communicate effectively, both orally and written. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals and other employees.
Experience:
Experience in the care, training, rehabilitation and of individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities preferred.
License:
Driver's license (Required) Must be able to pass a criminal background check and registry search, must obtain and maintain certification in behavior management, first aid and CPR.
