  • Full-time Nursing Assistant Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities is highly valued. We are seeking day time caregiver to work every other weekend with a rotating schedule of three to four days per week, 12 hours per shift. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff. Provide basic care for patients with diverse needs including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities. Support mobility by assisting with transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Assist in medication administration under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Engage with patients in meaningful ways to promote emotional well-being and comfort. Requirements Certification as a Virginia Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting. Experience in critical care, long-term care, assisted living, or hospice care is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices. Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and vital sign monitoring. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and families. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Compassionate attitude towards providing care for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Candidates who have experience in pediatrics, geriatrics, acute care settings, or specialized areas such as infectious disease care or behavioral health will be given preference.
