Personal Care Assistant for Developmental Disabilities

As a Direct Support Professional for Thriving With Assistance (TWA), you will Assist in the development of the program, implementation of individual program goals, plan and implement community and home-based activities focusing on participant's choices, assist with personal care as needed and assigned; assist and/or substitute for fellow DSP as needed. The Direct Support Professional will report to the COO of TWA.

Position Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Reliable transportation Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills , and

Abilities:

• Knowledge of the characteristics and concepts of developmental disabilities and related conditions; Knowledge of HCBS settings
• Ability to implement and follow the policies and procedures of the position
• Ability to engage in the care and assist others
• Ability to provide basic nursing care, personal care, and hygiene as needed
• Ability to participate with professional staff in the design and implementation of training and programmatic activities.
• Ability to observe the rights and personal dignity of others.
• Ability to observe, record and report individuals' behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
• Ability to perform simple math and communicate effectively, both orally and written.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals and other employees.

Experience:

Experience in the care, training, rehabilitation and of individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities preferred

License:

Driver's license (Required) Must be able to pass a criminal background check and registry search, Must obtain and maintain certification in behavior management, first aid and
