Job Description
•Weekends Only•Job Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing assistance and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This position involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life through various forms of care and support. The DSP is responsible for fostering independence, promoting dignity, and ensuring the safety and well-being of those in their care. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Provide patient observation to monitor health and well-being, reporting any changes to appropriate personnel. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. Support clients in meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional planning while accommodating dietary restrictions. Engage clients in recreational activities and social interactions to promote mental and emotional well-being. Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. Assist with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure client safety during transfers. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Qualifications Previous experience in home health or patient care is preferred but not required. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical terminology is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care in a respectful manner. Must be able to follow instructions accurately and maintain confidentiality regarding client information. Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but can be obtained after hiring if necessary. This position requires dedication, empathy, and a passion for helping others achieve their fullest potential while ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. • We're looking for someone one to work 4am-4pm Sat-Sun •
