Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those experiencing memory care challenges, your energy and commitment will foster a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while positively impacting your community. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Administer medication following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet individual dietary needs Support residents during outings and community activities to promote social engagement Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy standards like HIPAA Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement personalized care plans for each individual Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a respectful and positive environment Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is preferred Knowledge of patient observation, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, and hospice or memory care is highly desirable Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely while maintaining resident dignity Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities or health challenges Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation is advantageous Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join us in creating a caring community where every individual receives the respect and support they deserve.
