Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, nurturing environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring they receive respectful, personalized care in a supportive setting. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance Support medication administration as directed by healthcare plans and ensure proper documentation of all care activities Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote healthy eating habits Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas, laundry, and sanitation routines Implement and follow personalized care plans developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to foster emotional well-being and community involvement Document all care provided accurately in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies Skills Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism Certification in CPR and First Aid; experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when necessary Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure resident confidentiality at all times Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers Compassionate demeanor with patience for working with seniors or individuals experiencing cognitive or physical disabilities Join us in making a positive impact every day!
