Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Residential Crisis Unit (RCSU), where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to individuals experiencing mental health crises. In this dynamic environment, you will deliver immediate support, ensure safety, and promote stability for residents with complex behavioral and psychiatric needs. Your energetic approach and proactive attitude will help create a secure, nurturing space for recovery and growth. Responsibilities Provide direct, hands-on support to residents experiencing acute psychiatric crises, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs to de-escalate challenging situations effectively Monitor patient observations continuously, documenting behavioral changes and responses accurately in medical records Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols while maintaining strict adherence to medical terminology and safety standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans focused on behavioral health and patient recovery Conduct patient monitoring activities, including vital signs and mental status assessments, in compliance with hospital or correctional facility protocols Maintain detailed records of patient care activities, incident reports, and medical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements Skills Strong knowledge of psychiatry, crisis intervention techniques, and acute care procedures Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges in hospital or correctional facility settings Proficiency in behavior management, patient observation, and psychiatric care practices Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and medical records management Ability to perform patient monitoring effectively while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and support residents' needs Prior experience in nursing or corrections facility medical clinics is highly desirable Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing essential support during critical moments.
