Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Shift Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and residents in various care settings. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of residents during overnight hours by assisting with daily activities, monitoring health status, and fostering a positive environment. Your energy and attentiveness will help create a nurturing space where residents feel valued and supported around the clock. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Provide personal care support including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Monitor residents' vital signs and overall health status during overnight shifts, reporting any concerns promptly Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Support residents with mobility needs using equipment like Hoyer lifts or assistive devices to ensure safety and comfort Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary plans while maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas Engage residents through social activities, behavioral management techniques, and companionship to promote mental well-being Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing light cleaning duties within residents' personal spaces and common areas Document incidents, observations, and care activities thoroughly to ensure compliance with regulatory standards Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings in compliance with safety protocols Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and senior care best practices Experience assisting individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities in group home or personal care home settings Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medication administration, behavior management strategies, and emergency response procedures such as first aid Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and reporting purposes Long-term care experience that highlights your ability to provide consistent, compassionate support over time Valid driver's license for safe driving of residents when required Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to enriching lives through dedicated caregiving.
