Personal Care Assistant (Night Shift)Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant to join our night shift team. In this rewarding role, you will provide individualized support to residents in assisted living, nursing home, or home and community care settings. Your dedication will help promote residents' dignity, independence, comfort, and overall well-being. Working overnight, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. Key Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns through Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Administer medications in accordance with prescribed guidelines and healthcare regulations. Support resident mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment, including Hoyer lifts, while ensuring safety and preventing injury. Provide companionship and meaningful engagement to support residents' emotional and mental well-being during overnight hours. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment by performing light housekeeping duties and following infection control procedures. Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, behavioral concerns, or resident needs, utilizing appropriate de-escalation and behavior management techniques. Qualifications Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, nursing homes, or home and community care settings is preferred. Understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer's disease, memory care practices, and supporting individuals with developmental or physical disabilities. First Aid and CPR certification are preferred; candidates willing to obtain certification will also be considered. Ability to work independently and responsibly during overnight shifts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare team members. Experience using EMR systems for documentation is an asset. A valid driver's license is beneficial for occasional transportation of residents or supplies. Why Join Us?
