Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), where your compassion and energy will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, assist with daily activities, and promote independence in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing changes in condition, ensuring safety at all times Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and safety Prepare nutritious meals, assist with cooking, and ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness in living spaces Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and incident reports in compliance with privacy standards Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and overall well-being Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and support clients effectively Valid certifications such as CPR and first aid are required; additional certifications related to healthcare or caregiving are a plus Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and respecting client confidentiality Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join us as a Direct Support Professional where your dedication fuels positive change!
