Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those in need of home and community care. This role involves supporting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a caring environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining accurate care plans Provide personal care such as feeding, toileting, and assisting with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light cleaning duties to promote hygiene and comfort Document patient observations, care activities, and progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations Respond promptly to emergencies by administering first aid or CPR when necessary Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans Support residents in community outings or activities to foster social engagement and independence Qualifications Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care preferred Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA training are highly desirable Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia or Alzheimer's is preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for resident transfers or mobility assistance Strong patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends if required Valid driver's license may be preferred for community outings or transportation needs Background check clearance required prior to employment Join our team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual needs.
Pay:
$16.50 - $18.00 per hour
