Alliance Human Services, Inc. has an exciting Full-Time (40-hour) opportunity for an experienced Direct Support Professional/Mentor to join our not-for-profit, therapeutic foster care agency, located in Lynchburg, VA . We are looking for a Direct Support Professional/Mentor to provide developmentally appropriate care and supervision to children in placement on an intermittent basis. You may also support foster families, provide parenting services, and assist with agency projects, events, and administrative functions as assigned. Work on some evenings and weekends maybe required based on the families' schedules. Experience:
High School Diploma (Bachelor's level preferred) Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) experience preferred (include DJJ experience on resume)

Client Care & Support Provide safe, age-appropriate supervision and engagement for children in placement Support daily needs including hygiene, meals, and emotional well-being Implement Individualized Service Plan (ISP) goals Transport clients to appointments, school, visits, and activities Apply child development and behavior management best practices Foster Family Support Collaborate with Case Managers to support successful placements Serve as a resource to foster families Mentoring Provide one-on-one mentoring to youth/young adults Build self-esteem, social skills, and independent living skills Parent Support Services Initiate contact with parents within 12-24 hours of assignment Schedule and facilitate meetings as appropriate Maintain consistent, supportive communication Provide up to 10 hours/week of parenting support (as needed) Document all interactions and services Compliance & Documentation Complete accurate, timely documentation Follow agency policies, confidentiality standards, and mandated reporting requirements Agency Support Assist with placement stabilization and short-term support services Participate in agency events and initiatives Support outreach, donations, and marketing efforts Perform basic administrative tasks Current CPR/First Aid Certification on file. • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma (Bachelor's level preferred) with at least one year of experience in human services. Must have current driver's license, a safe, registered, working vehicle, and appropriate levels of insurance coverage. Criminal history must meet or exceed company standards at time of hire and be maintained at this level throughout employment.
