Director Job Purpose:
•To provide supports and services to intellectually disabled individuals that focus on the development and improvement of independent, daily living, social, and communication skills intended to assist with increasing their success with integrating into the community. Organizational Expectation of Employee To ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all program participants To follow policies and procedures of Marc Workshop To perform duties as workload necessitates To maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards all, acting as a team player To communicate clearly with all To make efficient use of time To observe all safety regulations and protocols as well as to proactively eliminate any risks that are identified as unsafe. To utilize the Person -Centered Plan as the foundation of service delivery To document required and pertinent information related to participants To act as a role model for those that we serve and for those in our community To participate in on-going training
Essential Duties:
Keep a daily attendance log Create, implement, monitor, and document weekly activities. Ensure health and safety of individuals at all times Provide personal care as needed. Complete required documentation on participates of the program as required. To assist with skill acquisition associated to independent living, daily living, social, and communication. To educate participants on importance of maintaining health and to increase awareness of personal safety. To accompany participants into the community providing support/intervention as needed/required Ensure that individual choice is observed with all participants Support individuals to become and remain active members of their community Assist individuals with identifying areas of interest within their community Assist individuals as needed during break/lunch To attend staff meetings and training as necessary Any other duties as assigned by the
Director Qualifications:
Experience, Education, and Certifications The position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent (GED) Some experience working with individuals with disabilities. Computer proficiency Language Skills Ability to read, write, speak and/or communicate in English to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the position. Ability to effectively present information to clients and respond to questions Ability to document daily support notes in written comprehensible format Mathematical Skills Basic math (counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages) Reasoning Skills Must have the ability to apply logic to a wide range of practical problems as they arise and relate to dealing with adults with disabilities American with Disability Specification The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
